Elevate Outcomes by Adding Minimally Invasive Periodontal Therapy

Solea® Perioguide™ is a new application on the Solea® All-Tissue Laser that enables you to deliver safe, effective, and efficient laser periodontal treatments and crown lengthening procedures without the need for sutures and with minimal post-operative discomfort.1,2

Minimally invasive dental laser therapy offers several advantages over traditional surgery, making it a great option for treating periodontitis in your office. With Solea Perioguide, your patients can receive exceptional care for periodontitis directly from you, a dentist they know and trust.3  And you can expand your treatment offerings, elevate clinical effectiveness, and improve the patient experience.2

Procedural Expansion and Clinical Effectiveness
Minimally Invasive Precision

Solea Perioguide enables you to target and remove diseased tissue, often eliminating the need for sutures. Because of the laser’s precision, adjacent healthy tissue can be preserved, which is beneficial to maintain the integrity of the gingiva and surrounding bone.

Supported by Clinical Evidence

A clinical study led by Myron Nevins, DDS and Marc L. Nevins, DMD, MMSc demonstrated that a healthy periodontal state could be achieved and maintained for at least 9 months in moderate to severe periodontitis patients with Solea–assisted periodontal therapy.3 A total of 56 teeth and 145 sites with an initial pocket depth (PD) of ≥ 5mm for 5 patients were treated.

Results:
  • Mean pocket depth reduction was ~4mm for teeth with an initial pocket depth ≥7mm
  • Up to 7mm pocket depth reduction was observed
  • 98% of treated teeth had pocket depths <5mm at 9 months
  • Histology demonstrated evidence of new bone formation and connective tissue attachment*

Conclusion: With Solea, a healthy periodontal state can be achieved and maintained in moderate to severe periodontitis patients.

Reduced Risk of Infection

Solea is indicated for vaporization of soft tissue, eliminating viruses and bacteria. This is particularly important for treating periodontal disease where the pocket can harbor millions of harmful microbes. By detoxifying the periodontal pocket, Solea helps to create a cleaner environment for healing.

Periodontal disease is one of the most common yet challenging oral health conditions, and many dentists refer cases out due to the complexity and invasiveness of traditional treatments. Solea Perioguide changes that. It allows me to efficiently treat periodontitis in my practice with excellent clinical results—all while providing a more comfortable experience for my patients. Plus, I also use it for crown lengthening and extractions, making it an incredibly versatile tool. This new application has proven to further maximize my investment in Solea.

Elevated Patient Experience

The overall experience of laser periodontal therapy is often more comfortable for the patient than traditional surgery with a scalpel, leading to less anxiety about the procedure and higher post-procedure satisfaction.

By efficiently ablating diseased periodontal tissue, Solea Perioguide minimizes trauma to the gums and surrounding structures. Additionally, the laser delivers energy that serves as a sterilizing agent by killing bacteria and pathogens that contribute to periodontal disease. Because of these factors, laser periodontal therapy promotes quick healing, allowing your patients to resume normal activities with minimal downtime.
