Sculpt tissue to create beautiful smiles.
Solea® is like Adobe® Photoshop® for soft tissue. The laser ablates tissue with minimal bleeding, creating clean, precisely carved margins.1 Feel like you are just gently pushing gingiva from side to side as it disappears. Solea enables quick, easy tissue sculpting with precise control because of the variable speed foot pedal - the harder you press, the more energy it delivers, the faster you cut.
“Solea has been such an asset to our practice. We do more work in less time. We’re easily and efficiently performing osseous crown lengthenings, frenectomies, and esthetic gingival recontouring. We refer out a fraction of what we used to and new patient volume has doubled.”
Jeff Rohde, DDS, MS

Anterior Cerec Veneers With Esthetic Crown Lengthening
A 43-year-old female patient had had chipping and various composite repairs for over two decades. She was unhappy with her smile and the way her teeth looked. The dentist advised a mix of esthetic gingival contouring and esthetic crown lengthening to correct variations in gingival height as well as porcelain veneers to restore the maxillary central and lateral incisors. The incredible precision of Solea made this procedure minimally invasive, with no flap and no sutures needed, and reduced procedure time to 4-5 minutes.
Class Iv Esthetic Composite Removal
A 24-year-old female patient presented to the practice with a desire to improve the appearance of her smile prior to her upcoming wedding. She had an existing Class IV restoration on tooth #8 that did not meet her esthetic desires. The clinical objective was to obtain an esthetic restoration utilizing a minimally invasive approach and no anesthetic. Thus, the existing composite was removed using Solea, and the new Class IV composite was placed.
Gingivectomy And Depigmentation
A 13-year-old female patient was scheduled for a single tooth gingivectomy on tooth #7 due to puberty/hormone-induced gingival hyperplasia. The patient asked about lightening her dark gingiva and was treated with a 6-tooth gingivectomy and gingival depigmentation. Done with Solea, this procedure included two extensive soft tissue procedures with no anesthesia, minimal bleeding and fast healing.
Fibroma Removal
A 52-year-old male patient presented to the practice with a large oral lesion on his lower lip that bothered him esthetically. He was referred to the practice by a prosthodontist who preferred the dentist’s Solea treatment to the traditional oral surgery. The oral evaluation revealed that this fibroma-like lesion measured 7mm x 5mm x 5mm. The patient agreed to excisional biopsy of the lesion.
Closed Crown Lengthening #9
A 60-year-old female patient presented to the practice with complaints about the appearance of her front crown. The clinical objective was to obtain an esthetic restoration and gingival architecture on the tooth #9 utilizing a non-invasive closed crown lengthening surgical approach with Solea. The full coverage restoration on tooth #8 and partial coverage on teeth #7,9,10 were prepped immediately following the crown lengthening.
Pediatric Gingivectomy And Maxillary Frenectomy
A 13-year-old female patient was unhappy with the appearance of her smile after the orthodontic treatment. The oral evaluation revealed that she had a hypermobile lip and showed too much of her gingiva and maxillary frenum when she smiled. Her etiology was a combination of hormone induced and post orthodontic hypertrophic gingiva combined with a very thick biotype. The clinical objective was to remove the excessive gingiva to make her smile more esthetically pleasing.
